Sculpture of the
human figure in wood, stone, and clay is this artist’s heart-led
focus. Kubiak’s incredible works with figurative anatomy have
been exhibited in galleries across the US and abroad. At first Mark
started with a simple mallet and a carpenters chisel in wood. Today,
he is well-known for his clean and elegant wood sculptures. In contrast
to carving, a subtractive technique is used to model extensively in
clay for casting in bronze. Considerable time is also spent drawing
from the posed figure, and people in the urban scene. He always has
